Time

I began pondering time while welding today. On average, we have approximately 70 years on this earth. Then each year has 365 days, each day has 24 hours, each hour has 60 minutes, and finally each minute has 60 seconds. That’s a whole lot of time when you sit down to think about it. I began to ponder how much time we are actually spending for the glory of God out of our allotted time on this earth.

Over the past few months, I’ve come to see something simple but profound: we don’t always need to find extra time for Jesus on our calendars; we can use the time we already have.

For instance, I take advantage of the commute to work to pray about the day and to pray for people that God highlights to me. I take advantage of the lunch break to dive into God's Word. I take advantage of the commute back home to worship with songs and to worship God. These are activities that I had previously planned and set aside for myself—to devote to God instead.

What is surprising is the ease with which we can find space for God if we simply put down our phones and turn our hearts to Him.

Please let me encourage you to carve out moments—even in your car driving to work, during work hours, or on a break. You pray. You read his word. You listen to his word. You invite God to enter your everyday experiences. It may seem like small things to your mind. But I want to tell you these things matter greatly.
