Singleness - waiting

Lord, We come to you during this time of singleness-this time of waiting and not knowing what lies ahead of us. Our hearts may be so weary; our minds may be filled with so many unanswered questions: What lies ahead? In this time of waiting, help us to have patience. Teach us to completely trust in your timing, knowing that you are never early but always right on time. In this time of singleness, help us to focus not on an emptiness but in an abundance of opportunity for increased intimacy with you, for discovering more about ourselves and ourselves in relation to you and for preparing for life as you have in mind for us. Fill us with peace and contentment, Lord, that we may meet each new day with thanks and hope. Raise our spirits with Your guidance, even when the future is cloudy before us. Teach us to rely on Your Presence, to delight in Your company, and to be certain that the seasons of waiting are the seasons of preparation for the good times that are to be. We commit to Your care the future and the relationships and the desires of our hearts, trusting that Your faithfulness will bring us the right mate at the right time and the right circumstances, and that Your plan will be realized. May the heart of ours find its home within the security of Your love, trusting that Your hand is at work, even when the results are not visible. Amen.
